Two of the last featured artist projects were made possible because of items brought in by Truman parents. The long roll of white paper for the first grade cave art was brought in by Matt Schulte's dad and the little row of newsprint I've had for years, but it was also brought in by a Truman family. Many items are from parent's work place that are being discarded and they call me to see if I'm interested. I always am. Because of the high cost of art materials, I love to get stuff like that, and I even develop projects around items brought in. Please think of us as you clean out attics and garages because as they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure. Below are some items that we can always use in the art room and you could send it with your child or bring yourself. Thanks so much.
- empty paper towel rolls
- Styrofoam meat trays
- any kind of paper
- empty butter tubs (or "dips") w/ lids
- cardboard sheets
- old tooth brushes (please run these through the dish washer first)
- old light bulbs
- Quaker Oats boxes
- popsicle sticks
- thin cardboard (like in drycleaning)
This is just a short list of items I know I could use this year. If you have any ideas, please don't hesitate to call me. Thanks, Mrs. Brown
